You are You Programme

8 Lesson plans that encourage 10–12-year-olds as they and/or their parents (primary caregivers) or teachers develop concerns about their; mental, emotional, physical, and social development, and seek to address them truthfully, reasonably, encouragingly, and empathetically, to provide the knowledge that will help them to make informed healthy decisions, as they think about their short and long term, future.

The Concerns

  • Family Concerns (The impact of our perception of our own and other peoples families)

  • Friends & Peer Concerns (The impact of our perception of our own and other peoples friendships)

  • Body Concerns (Puberty and the impact of physical changes and responsibilities)

  • Emotional Concerns (Puberty and the impact of emotional changes and responsibilities)

  • Self-Care Concerns (Puberty and the impact of hygiene, rest, diet, and exercise responsibilities)

  • Responsibilities Concerns (Growing up and the impact of increased responsibility, safety, and decision making)

  • Reproduction Concerns (Growing up and the impact of having adult responsibilities, relationships, and children)

  • Parenthood Concerns (Growing up and the impact of parenthood) 

 

There are 12-14 years lesson plans that can be delivered down to a 10-12 level if appropriate, tackling the following causes & consequences,

  • Words and Behaviour Concerns (GOSSIP: The impact of careless and reckless words and behaviour)

  • Celebrity & Influencer Concerns (The impact of misinformed and uniformed influences)

  • Bullying and Abuse Concerns (The impact of aggression, manipulation, threats and exploitation)

  • Relationship Concerns (The impact of crushes, Infatuation, and obsession)

  • Drug Concerns (The impact of alcohol, vaping, cigarettes, prescription & illegal drugs)

  • Sex Concerns (The impact of underage sexual activity inc. law, Ignorance, physical development)
